About our happy pack leader
Hi! I'm Rochelle! I have loved and lived with dogs my whole life. I began working with dogs in 1999 and leading pack walks professionally in 2004. My dog, Charlie The Dog, went on all the pack walks with me, is the logo for my business and the bedrock of my philosophy. After a long and wonderful life, at the age of 17, my Charlie passed away in 2016. It was truly a blessing for me to get to work with dogs and have my best buddy right by my side every day.
For the pack walks, I pick each dog up, walk them from the last dogs' house for 40-50 minutes, take pictures and bring them back home. The packs are walked in a disciplined and structured way. The dogs are calm and happy; as a result, what naturally happens is that we travel in harmony together as one cohesive unit. The are all happy, calm, and under control. The way the packs operate is a completely natural experience for dogs, traveling together as a united pack. With me fulfilling their need for a competent, attentive, skilled pack leader, they are able to trot along and enjoy the adventure.
I've been leading packs of dogs for over 10 years and continue to improve my skills daily. I learn from the dogs about dog behavior and how they experience the world. That experience informs my dog training philosophy.
I understand that the best leaders serve those they lead, and that is how I approach the work I do - my role is to benefit the dogs and to fulfill their needs.
I learn most about dogs by watching them, both on their own and with other dogs. I believe there is no better teacher of dog behavior than dogs themselves. I practice all that I have learned (and continue to learn) everyday with my own dogs, walking packs, training and providing overnight boarding. I use all that knowledge to help the dog owners I work with to get the most fulfilling relationship possible with their dogs.
That's what makes my approach to dog training so accessible, simple and effective. I know what a dog needs to have the best life possible and how to teach that to owners. Dogs can bring out the best in us, and it's my mission to help as many people as I can enjoy the beautiful relationship unique to humans and canines.
